What is peer-to-peer fundraising? Pet Partners and many of our volunteers are launching a fundraising strategy using Peer-to-Peer online giving. Also known as social fundraising, it gives Pet Partners' fans the opportunity to share their passion for our mission with their personal contacts in an effort to reach a fundraising goal through online giving. Pet Partners advocates have exceptional stories to tell and we’re excited to have their help in reaching further into the community by engaging their peers – from friends and family to business associates and neighborhood contacts. P2P fundraising gives individual teams the opportunity to help raise funds through a simple online process and earn prizes that include the waiving of their registration fee, vests, etc. to lower expenses. Affiliates or Community Partners will have the opportunity for this beta run to raise money with a percentage going back to their group to be used for growing and strengthening their teams. In the future this will only be available to Community Partners and individual teams. If you would like to participate with this campaign running from Feb. 1 – March 22, please email us at P2P@petpartners.org. Please put in the subject line the words P2P YES and we will include you in our communication.
How does it work? Supporters create personal fundraising pages (link to sample below) through FirstGiving, customizing their profiles with pictures and information about their connection to Pet Partners. And we’re happy to help with the setup and messaging as they go!
Each page has a unique link that can be shared with contacts by e-mail, social media and word of mouth to get fundraising underway. To see an example page, visit this link — http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/scottfranklin
