Dogs who want to go home with you

Picture of Zeus is forthcoming

I'm Zeus, an 11-month-old male boxer / hound mix. I am calm and sweet and weigh close to 75 pounds. I am house-trained, leash-trained and crate-trained. I would like to keep living with my sister Rose if possible, but I'll be okay without her as long as you have another dog for me to be friends with.

Picture of Rose is forthcoming

I'm Rose, an 11-month-old female boxer / hound mix. I am calm and sweet and weight close to 55 pounds. I am house-trained, leash-trained and crate-trained. I would like to keep living with my brother Zeus if possible, but I'll be okay without him too.

Picture of Up and Down is forthcoming

We're Up and Down. We are males of mixed breed between two and three months old. Some people think we might be mixed with hound and yellow lab. We are sweet puppies and could go to a home together or separately.

Picture of Chelsea is forthcoming

I'm Chelsea. I am a female American Eskimo or Spitz. I may be around 5 years old. I am friendly, affectionate and energetic. I am a little irritated by children, so I probably should not live with any. I am house-trained, leash-trained and crate-trained. I get a little jealous of other pets and would prefer there are not many in the household, but if you insist I do get along with cats and some other dogs.

Picture of Ozzy is forthcoming

Ozzy is a 9-month-old Weimaraner. He is good with older kids as he is very strong and will knock down smaller ones. He is good with cats and dogs. He is housebroken and crate trained. He definitely needs a fence. He was given up because of too much energy and no fenced yard.

Picture of Honeybee is forthcoming

Honeybee is a beautiful 9-month old Lab mix. She is very a sweet and playful girl, who would love lots of attention. Honeybee has the most beautiful eyes - amber/green color. She was found wandering the streets and suffering from a bad skin infection. She has been fully vetted, spayed and treated for the skin infection - she looks like a new dog! And, she is housebroken! She weighs 60lbs and is slightly underweight. We don't expect her to get much bigger. Honeybee can be adopted by e-mailing her foster mom.

Picture of Belle is forthcoming

Belle is a year old beagle-bassett mix. The poor gal has some special diet needs and is on low dose steroids for lymphocytic enteritis. She's very friendly, good with other dogs and cats. She will definitely want to sleep with you.

Picture of Teddy is forthcoming

Teddy is 3-4 year old male Golden Retriever-Cocker Spaniel mix about 45 lbs. He is up for adoption because his owner has terminal cancer and can no longer care for him. He gets along with all size dogs but prefers females about his size. He is housebroken, seems okay with kids. He is laid back and wants to be with human company. He can be adopted by e-mailing his foster mom.

Picture of Rocky is forthcoming

Rocky is a 7-year-old 13-inch Blue Tick Beagle. He is very sweet and loving. He loves to snuggle. He is crate trained and housebroken. Good with other dogs & cats.

Picture of Sporty is forthcoming

Sporty is a a 68-pound 2-year-old neutered male. He's very friendly and calm. He's also housebroken. He was returned after a year and a half because owner was "too busy". Excellent with kids, dogs & cats.

Picture of Jingle is forthcoming

Jingle is a 1 year old female broken coat Jack Russell Terrier, about 15 lbs, would be considered an over 12-inches in JRTCA, very friendly to people, unsure of new dogs at this time but should adjust with males about her size, housebroken with a strict schedule, turned in at a vet clinic from a retired breeder. Loves the car, sitting on your lap, is a moderate energy level. We follow the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America guidelines for adoption. She can be adopted by e-mailing her foster mom.

Picture of Blue is forthcoming

Blue is a 1-2 year old male shepherd mix. He is very sweet. Gets along great with other dogs & cats. He is crate trained and housebroken. He was found at a convenience store. He had been there for days getting thinner and thinner. He is starting to put weight on and looks good.

Picture of Aries is forthcoming

Aries is a 10-month-old male Great Dane, who was turned in to animal control because his family couldn't afford to feed him. He's underweight right now at only 101 lbs - you can see all his ribs and his hip bones. We anticipate that he'll grow up to be between 140 and 180 lbs. He has a great disposition, and is very friendly with people. Animal control told us that the previous owner had school-aged children. He's full of puppy playfulness. He currently has an eye infection for which he is on medication, and will require surgery for entropia, which will be done before he goes to his new home. He will be with us for several weeks to fatten up and heal, but we are taking applications. We think he'd be okay with other large dogs. He can be adopted by e-mailing his foster mom.

Picture of Dixie is forthcoming

Dixie is 4-5 year old female Rat Terrier. She was used as a "breeder" but given up to a shelter because of "too many dogs ". She is learning to leash walk and working on housebreaking. She is calm and friendly. She likes to sleep with you. Great with cats & dogs

Picture of Grover is forthcoming

Grover is a male Shih Tzu, about 6 years old that we rescued from Animal Control. He's great on a leash, and seems to be housetrained. He's a very sweet, calm lap dog, about 12-15 pounds. He loves to be held, and likes other animals and kids. This picture was taken after several baths, and he'll be visiting the groomer this week. He's a special little guy, just full of love. He's got a few problems he'll need your help with. One, he's partially deaf - he can only hear high-pitched sounds. You can get more information about adopting Grover by e-mailing his foster mom directly at okcjrt@aol.com.

Picture of Sterling is forthcoming

Sterling is a 5-month old female Husky who is very active and playful, and like other dogs. She was turned in to Animal Control because her former owner thought that pups came already housebroken. Huskys are an active breed, and need to keep busy, so they don't make good apartment dogs, and we won't try to make her be one. Sterling can be adopted by e-mailing his foster mom.

Picture of Grace is forthcoming

Grace is a 7-month-old female shepherd mix who was found in a field as a pup. She was returned to us from her adoptive home because a new family member was allergic to her. She insists on a fenced backyard, and would really like a playmate, too, another dog her size or larger. She loves her current foster mom's Great Dane. She just loves to play with other dogs! She's also crate-trained. Grace can be adopted by e-mailing her foster mom.

Picture of Max is forthcoming

Max is a 5-year-old male broken coat Jack Russell Terrier. Max really needs to be the only pet. He's completed novice obedience, and is active in Jack Russell Racing (sort of like NASCAR, only smaller). He's talked about getting into pet therapy since he loves people. Pet Partners follows the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America guidelines for adoption of these dogs. Max can be adopted by e-mailing his foster mom.

Picture of Chip is forthcoming

Chip is a 2 year old male rough coat Jack Russell Terrier. He loves people, but needs a home without large dogs. He likes friends near his own size or smaller. He also loves the car and going for walks. He's smart and likes to keep busy. He's learned to climb things like ladders, and might make a good agility dog. He's also housebroken. Please take note that Jack Russell rescue organizations recommend that Jack Russell Terriers not be placed in homes with children under six years of age. Chip can be adopted by e-mailing his foster mom.

Picture of Kaydee is forthcoming

Kaydee, a 9-month-old female rat terrier was found by an animal clinic as a stray. She was in the vet kennel for over two months. All twelve pounds of her love to play and snuggle. Despite all she's been through, she has a moderate to high energy level. She's trying to be housebroken, but isn't quite there yet. She's also a bit shy with other dogs, and when you first meet her. Kaydee can be adopted by e-mailing his foster mom.

Picture of Gabby is forthcoming

Gabby is a shy, two-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix. She needs a quiet home without children. She's trying her best to be housebroken, but she's not quite there yet. Gabby can be adopted by e-mailing her foster mom.

Picture of Tan Tan is forthcoming

Tan Tan is a (you might have guessed) tan-colored spayed little girl, less than 20 pounds. She's a shy dog, and frightens easily. She'd be a great lap dog and bed buddy for a calm home with a fenced-in back yard.

Picture of Scamp is forthcoming

Scamp is a one-year-old, neutered male Husky mix. He's crate-trained, and active. He insists that you have a fenced-in back yard if you want to take him home.

Picture of Leroy is forthcoming

Leroy is a 3-year old Beagle mix who loves the outdoors. In fact, he's a little hesitant to come inside. He's a little shy, but he's playful with other dogs. Since he does love to be outside, he insists you have a fenced yard if you want to take him home.

Picture of Louise is forthcoming

Louise , a 2-year old Sheltie mix, is a very lucky girl. She lived for over a year in a cemetery, where a kind person fed her. She had two litters of puppies during that time, and after the second litter was taken to a local shelter. We rescued her and her pups from there, and all her puppies have been adopted. (See the education pages for pictures of the pups.) She has become a very social girl. She insists you have a fenced yard though she is housebroken.

Jack Russells

Jack Russells are usually available, but require a little more special handling. We have to come visit you before you take one home. We adopt them to homes with fenced-in backyards, and no small children. You can also find them at Peach State Jack Russell Terrier Club Rescue
